Unleash your inner adventurer on this stunning swimming holiday in Oman. Taking in the awe-inspiring fjords of the spectacular Musandam Peninsula, this trip gives you the chance to discover some truly breathtaking locations. The traditional dhow is the perfect vessel from which to explore this area, and our swimmers are often accompanied by the friendly dolphins who frequently visit these waters. From the towering cliffs and incredible views, to the local culture and delicious cuisine, this trip allows you to experience this fascinating corner of the world from a truly unique perspective.

This trip is ideal for swimmers who are looking for an adventurous swimming experience in one of most exotic destinations in Oman.
Swimmers should also have a basic understanding of open water swimming and be capable of completing the average swim distance of around 2 km twice in a day.

Around 24 hours of boat trip (local dhow) by the fiords and islands of Musandam
1 overnight stay on the dhow

ITINERARY
Most swimmers comfortable in the open water will be able to take part and enjoy this trip.
Distances indicated in the itinerary below are more suitable for advanced swimmers. Depending on your ability level, actual distance may be shorter as you will be swimming in a group of swimmers at a similar pace.
All swims will be escorted by the main boat or other kayakers.
There will be time for extra activities such as kayaking, snorkeling and hiking.
Day 1 - Saturday
9.30am - Meet and greet at the Khasab port
10.00am - Dhow departure
Morning swim #1 (up to 4km depending on your group)
Lunch on the boat (It may include fried chicken, fried rice, salad, khubz (Arabic bread), hummus, fruit, soft drinks)
Afternoon swim #2 (up to 2.5km depending on your group), followed by an optional hiking. Alternatively, there will be an opportunity for snorkeling / leisure swimming near the coast line

During the night and after all activities, the boat will station near spot #3.
BBQ dinner will be served on the boat that may include chicken tikka, grilled fish, chicken kebab, fried rice, khubz, hummus, salad, fruit, soft drinks, water.
Day 2 - Sunday
Sunrise swim #3 (up to 3km depending on your group)
Breakfast served on the dhow and may include boiled eggs, yogurt, jams, bread, coffee, tea, bottled juices, water and soft drinks.
Dolphin watching (not guaranteed)
10.00am - Arrival at Khasab port
Your swimming kit!
A safety buoy (mandatory). You can buy one here.
Vaseline or other anti-chafing products
Snorkeling accessories (snorkel, mask, fins)
Sun protection: hat, sunglasses, sun cream
A power bank to charge your devices
A drybag to carry your objects if you do kayaking
Snacks including gels/bars if needed during the day
A sleeping bag if you are staying on the rooftop
The meeting place at the Khasab Port in Musandam can be reached by car (2.40h) from Dubai
Check your visa requirements before travelling. It can be on arrival, or you can request it online at https://evisa.rop.gov.om/en/home
Suggested deadline for crossing the Oman border: Saturday 8am
