Open water
SwimTribe was born as a community of swimmers and triathletes who swim in the waters of UAE and abroad on a regular basis.
Open water swimming is a different sport! It takes a strong mindset but also an applied technique. Watch our videos "How to swim in open water without getting tired" and "Fix these 5 mistakes ASAP", produced by MySwimPro and featuring our coaches Chris Bryan and Cristian Ciccioli.
training sessions

Swim Tribe is a community based on a love of Open Water swimming, some session will be led by experienced open water coaches and some will be self-led by our passionate community leaders. We do a mix of fitness training and open water technique. All sessions are free of charge.
Coach-led Swims:
Sunday - Mix of long swim and open water skills
Meeting time: 7.15am
Location: Kite Beach (map)
Estimated distance: 2000m to 3500m
Suitable to: all confident swimmers who can swim 1500m within an hour (1st time joiners, this is for you!)
Community-led Swims:
Tuesday - Aerobic swim from Roy's Beach around Burj Al Arab and back
Meeting time: 6.45am
Location: Roy's Beach (map)
Estimated distance: 3500m
Suitable to: Advanced level (=1.40 pace or faster)
Thursday - Mix of long swim and speed change intervals
Meeting time: 6.45am
Location: Nessnass Beach (map)
Estimated distance: 3000m
Suitable to: medium to advanced levels (=2.00 pace or faster)
Note. All Open water swims have an element of risk and are at each swimmers own risk. A safety buoy is strongly recommended.

Able to swim at least 1500m within an hour
If this is your first time, please join us on a Sunday and ask for one of our coaches.
